As we welcome the warmth of late spring and early summer, there is a palpable energy returning to St. George. It’s a time when our parks, trails, and historic streets come alive.
At the heart of this vibrancy is our theme for this season: Community Connections.
In the City of St. George, we believe that community gatherings are the lifeblood of a thriving city. They do more than just fill our calendars; they weave together the cultural, social, and economic threads that define our shared identity. Whether through fitness, the arts, or the celebration of our heritage, these events transform our city into a home where everyone feels a true sense of belonging.
The spirit of connection was recently on full display at the St. George Art Festival, which welcomed tens of thousands of people, residents and visitors alike, in a celebration of art and culture.
Looking ahead, we are already building excitement for our signature traditions. We are officially on the “Road to Fifty” for the St. George Marathon. This world-class event is celebrating five decades as the defining event of the fall season in St. George, and this year’s race promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
Add to that our thirty-seven-year sister-city partnership with Ibigawa, Japan, and it proves that our reach extends far beyond our borders, connecting us to friends across the globe.
Likewise, preparations are underway for Dixie Days in September, where we will honor our pioneer heritage through the Dixie Roundup Rodeo, Dinner on Main, the Dixie Days Festival, carnival, historical treks, golf tournament, and so much more!
I encourage you to step outside this summer and engage with your neighbors. Whether you are participating in a Mayor’s Walk, exploring a downtown gallery, or simply enjoying our stunning landscapes, remember that every interaction strengthens the fabric of our community.
